Tilapia is a farmed fish with a mild flavour, and one of the most requested for its versatility. At Delimar we process and freeze it as fillets — in 2-3, 3-5, 5-7 and 7-9 oz sizes — whole at 250-550 g, as belly strips and as breaded fillets, for restaurants, hotels, supermarkets and distributors. All raw wholesale tilapia is backed by BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) responsible aquaculture.

Fillet, whole, belly strips and breaded
The tilapia fillet is worked individually frozen (IQF), skinless and boneless, in four sizes: 2-3 oz, 3-5 oz, 5-7 oz and 7-9 oz. It is vacuum-packed, with master case options of 4.54 kg, 22 x 454 g (9.99 kg), 17 x 650 g (11.05 kg), 6 x 1.5 kg (9 kg) and 4 x 2.3 kg (9.2 kg), to match the format to the order volume.
Beyond the fillet we handle whole tilapia at 250-550 g — gutted and scaled, in 8 x 1.36 kg, 10.88 kg Master Case — skinless, boneless belly strips in 10 x 1 kg and 20 x 500 g, and the breaded fillet, par-fried with a crispy coating, in 22 x 454 g, 9.99 kg Master Case. On the shelf, the retail line runs from the single 85 g fillet all the way to the 4.54 kg case.

- All the tilapia in the catalog is farmed. Delimar does not farm: it buys the product and processes, freezes and packs it at its plant in El Cocal, Puntarenas. The whole tilapia, the fillet and the wholesale belly strips carry the BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) seal, which backs responsible aquaculture, and the entire line is processed under FSSC 22000 or BRC certification with a HACCP system.
